A shiver shimmered down my spine
As he whispered “I will make you mine”
There was no moon, no pale starlight
Utter darkness ruled the night.
My thoughts swirled ‘round, a cloying mist
As he plied me with his lethal kiss
No strength of will, no plaintive cry
An instant more would buy
My heart, my soul he sought to steal
With a lechers wiles, a devil’s deal
Unending life, his bargain’s prize
He gazed with lifeless eyes
Within those depths I glimpsed my fate
I would become immortal mate
To one as ancient as the sea
Whose promise was his plea
Death’s chill embrace could I evade
My fears, my doubts, began to fade
As in the depths of his dead eyes
I sensed no empty lies
Immortal vessel of mortal lives
I have become what I despise
A predator, a succubus
Humankind’s eternal curse
